NCU alumni are invited to explore Israel in Summer 2019! Come walk in Jesus’ footsteps May 19-June 4 with Jerusalem Center for Biblical Studies. Interested? For more information contact Off-Campus Study Programs Coordinator Lauren Riley, email@example.com.
Here’s a sneak peek at just some of the great things you would experience!
DAY 2 – Saturday, May 20: Arrive in Tel Aviv
Arrive in-country, connect with Dr. Ziese, and set off towards the ruins of Old Joppa. Enjoy a refreshing walk in this biblically rich site and peer down from a 4,000 year old ruin-mound at a strategic harbor.
DAY 4 – Monday, May 22: Nazareth
Travel to Ibillin to visit and converse with Archbishop Elias Chacour, world-famous author and founder of the remarkable Mar Elias Educational Institutions, where Arab, Jewish, and Christian students study and learn together. Tour the 4,500-student school, hear its story, and visit the new chapel to be introduced to the Melkite Christian tradition (the largest denomination in Israel.) Explore Nazareth Village, a living display of lifeways in biblical times. Follow this visit by walking through modern Nazareth and visiting an Ottoman period mill (Babour Mill), Mary’s Well, and the Greek Orthodox Church of the Annunciation.
Day 10 – Sunday, May 28: Jesus Trail/Rest
Easy day of rest and worship. Ride a wooden boat on the Sea of Galilee and visit a church associated with the Sermon on the Mount.
Also, visit the Jordan River Valley, the Dead Sea, and Jerusalem! Explore the City of David Excavations and experience the place where the Christian story begins: the Church of the Nativity.
