Set in early 1930’s Germany, the looming specter of the Third Reich has only begun to cast its shadow over Europe. In the heart of one city, Esther, a Jewish orphan, lives with her eccentric Uncle Morty above his tailoring shop. Quiet, sheltered, Esther harbors dreams of making a difference in the increasingly darkened world around her. One night, her secret love of swing dancing leads her to a head-over-heels encounter with the charming Captain X— who just happens to be an officer in the SS. As their young love blossoms, and the persecutions of her people continue, Esther is faced with a desperate choice between keeping silent or confronting Captain X and losing everything she holds dear…
With musical numbers from The Greatest Showman, Hello Dolly, Gnarls Barkley, and more— as well as theater-shaking swing dance pieces— Esther of the Seine is a spectacular entertainment with a profound heart.
During intermission guests will have an opportunity to help support NCU Missions by purchasing delicious desserts.
